Dr. Carmen Gogu Chiropractic Physician
Founder | The Innate Initiative Chiropractic & Bodywork
Dr. Carmen Gogu is a highly trained chiropractic physician, educator, and performance-focused clinician dedicated to restoring function, optimizing functional performance, and delivering measurable, results-driven care.
Originally from Romania, Dr. Carmen’s journey into healthcare was not theoretical—it was personal. After sustaining significant injuries from a motorcycle accident alongside years of cumulative athletic trauma and concussions, she experienced firsthand the limitations of conventional, symptom-based care. Multiple providers, medications, and interventions failed to deliver lasting results. It was chiropractic care that ultimately restored her function, and reshaped her entire understanding of health.
That experience became the foundation of her clinical philosophy: true healing occurs when the nervous system is restored, not suppressed.
Dr. Carmen’s background includes medical training, which informs her multidisciplinary approach to patient care. She values an evidence-informed, collaborative model, utilizing conservative care first while recognizing the role of medical intervention, including medications and vaccines, when clinically appropriate.
Dr. Carmen earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and has pursued extensive postgraduate training in sports performance and rehabilitation, pediatric and perinatal care, upper cervical specific techniques, structural correction, Webster Technique, Nasal Release Technique, functional interpretation of blood work and lab markers, and clinical nutrition.
Her clinical approach integrates functional and strength-based rehabilitation with over a decade of experience in advanced manual therapy and soft tissue techniques, allowing her to deliver precise, results-driven care for complex, performance, and chronic cases alike.
During her doctoral training, Dr. Carmen performed over 10,000 supervised and clinical chiropractic adjustments through extensive hands-on clinical work and international mission service, where she delivered high-volume care in diverse and demanding environments. She further refined her expertise through advanced continuing education, attending over 60 seminars focused on technique, neurology, and patient outcomes.
She holds both a Master’s degree and a Diplomate in Chiropractic Pediatrics, reflecting advanced clinical expertise in caring for patients at every stage of life—from infants to high-performing athletes.
Her approach is both precise and comprehensive, integrating biomechanics, neurology, soft tissue work, and functional rehabilitation to address the root cause, not just the symptoms.
Clinical Philosophy
At the core of Dr. Carmen’s work is one principle: The body is not broken—it is adapting.
Her role is to remove interference, improve communication within the nervous system, and allow the body to do what it was designed to do: heal, regulate, and perform.
Care is never cookie-cutter. Every patient receives a customized, data-driven approach based on structural findings, neurological function, and lifestyle demands.

Piezowave (Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy/Sound Wave Therapy)
A non-invasive, regenerative therapy that utilizes high-energy acoustic sound waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, improve circulation, and enhance tissue repair at a cellular level.
This therapy works by delivering targeted mechanical stimulation to affected tissues, promoting increased metabolic activity, improved blood flow, and the activation of the body’s innate repair mechanisms.
Mechanism of Action
> Promotes localized tissue regeneration through mechanical stimulation
> Enhances circulation and oxygenation to damaged tissues
> Supports activation of cellular repair processes and regenerative signaling pathways
> Helps stimulate the body’s natural healing response, including the recruitment of repair cells
> Breaks down chronic adhesions and calcifications within soft tissue
Indicated for:
> Chronic tendon conditions (tendinopathy)
> Plantar fasciitis
> Rotator cuff and shoulder dysfunction
> Hip pain and bursitis
> Knee pain and patellar tracking issues

Benefits:
> Supports natural tissue repair and regeneration
> Improves blood flow and nutrient delivery
> Reduces chronic pain and inflammation patterns
> Enhances mobility and tissue elasticity
> Breaks down fibrotic tissue and adhesions
> Accelerates recovery from both acute and chronic injuries
> May reduce reliance on medications or invasive procedures
> Complements chiropractic, rehabilitation, and performance-based care
This therapy is particularly effective for patients who have not responded to traditional care and are seeking a non-invasive, regenerative approach to recovery and performance.
Nasal Release Technique (NRT) / Cranial Facial Release (CFR)
A specialized, non-surgical cranial technique that utilizes a gentle, balloon-assisted method performed through the nasal passages to support cranial mobility, improve airway function, and enhance overall neurological and structural balance.
This technique involves the precise insertion and rapid inflation of small medical-grade balloons within the nasal passages to help mobilize cranial structures and improve airflow.
Mechanism of Action
> Supports mobility of cranial bones and facial structures
> Helps improve nasal airflow and breathing capacity
> Assists in optimizing pressure dynamics within the cranial system
> Supports healthy circulation and fluid movement (including cerebrospinal fluid dynamics)
> Reduces structural restrictions that may contribute to tension and dysfunction
Indicated for:
> Chronic sinus congestion and breathing restrictions
> Headaches and migraine patterns
> TMJ dysfunction and facial tension
> Post-concussion symptoms and head/neck trauma
